How many courses, meetings, counselling, clothes, communication classes and etc have we all done , purchased and gone through to get a decent job with a decent salary? Well fact's a fact ! Human does any and everything for sustenance. However, in this post i shall enlist some methods from Qur'an and Sunnah to increase the sustenance and means of Livelihood the HALAAL WAY
1) ALLAH HAS TAKEN THE RESPONSIBILITY OF PROVIDING US SUSTENANCE (RIZQ)
In order to understand Allah’s Name ar-Razzaq, we need to know what rizq means. Rizq is what has been apportioned for you which benefits you. So Allah (swt) is ar-Razzaq—He is the One who creates your rizq, and takes it upon Himself to deliver what He has apportioned to His servants. He provides this sustenance to everyone: Muslim and non-Muslim, woman and man, humans and animals and plants. It encompasses everything on earth. Allah (swt) says in the Qur’an:
“And there is no creature on earth but that upon Allah is its provision [rizq], and He knows its place of dwelling and place of storage. All is in a clear register.” (Qur’an, 11:6)
“And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth – just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking.” (Qur’an, 51:22-23)
2) WHAT IS RIZQ? DOES IT MEAN "MONEY" ONLY?
When we refer to rizq, many people assume it is just money. But rizq is what benefits you. So it can be money , religion and any other material thing in this world. It can also be something emotional. And it can be spiritual rizq. The person who takes it upon himself to attend talks, surround himself with good people and increase in the good that he does is taking the steps to feed his soul. And Allah (swt) will raise his station because of that.
3)WHEN IS OUR SUSTENANCE AND LIVELIHOOD DECIDED?
Narrated AbudDarda' : Allah's Messenger said: Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, has ordained for every servant amongst His creation five things: his death, his action, his abode, the places of his moving about and his means of sustenance. [Hadith - Tirmidhi and Ahmad]
The Prophet said, "Allah has appointed an angel in the womb, and the angel says, 'O Lord! A drop of discharge (i.e. of semen), O Lord! a clot, O Lord! a piece of flesh.' And then, if Allah wishes to complete the child's creation, the angel will say. 'O Lord! A male or a female? O Lord! wretched or blessed (in religion)? What will his livelihood be? What will his age be?' The angel writes all this while the child is in the womb of its mother." [Sahih Al Bukhaari]
The prophet (s.a.w) is reported to have said :
لو أن ابن آدم هرب من رزقه كما يهرب من الموت لأدركه رزقه كما يدركه الموت
Even if the son of Adam were to flee from his sustenance like he flees from death, his sustenance would still reach him just like his death will reach him
[Ref: Silsilah Ahadeeth Saheeha (952); but has weakness in it. Al-Bayhaqi said this is saheeh only mawqoofan. However, even if this narration is dha`eef, it's meaning is agreed upon by the Muslims and there are other ahadeeth supporting it's matan]
Say: "Nothing shall ever happen to us except what Allah has ordained for us. He is our Maula (Lord, Helper and Protector)." And in Allah let the believers put their trust.[The Noble Qur'an - At-Tauba 9:51]
And everything, small and big is written (in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz already beforehand i.e. before it befalls, or is done by its doer). [The Noble Qur'an - Al-Qamar 54:53]
4) WARNING FROM EARNING WEALTH IN A HARAAM WAY !AS IT WON'T BENEFIT US EITHER IN CHARITY OR HEREAFTER !
Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, Allah has divided your character between you just as He has divided your provision between you. Verily, Allah the Exalted gives the world to those He loves and to those He does not love, but He only gives the religion to those He loves. Whoever is given the religion, then Allah has loved him. By the one in whose hand is my soul, a servant will not submit until he submits his heart and his tongue. None of you has faith until his neighbor is safe from his evil.” They said, “What is its evil, O Prophet of Allah?” The Prophet said, “His tyranny and oppression. A servant cannot earn wealth from what is forbidden and spend it and receive blessings in it. He cannot give in charity from it and have it be accepted. He cannot leave it behind his back except that it increases him in the Hellfire. Verily, Allah the Exalted does not expiate an evil deed with an evil deed. Rather, He expiates an evil deed with a good deed. Verily, a wicked deed cannot expiate a wicked deed.” [Source: Musnad Ahmad 3663, Saheeh by Ahmad Shaakir]
The prophet (sallalahu `alayhi wa sallam) said : When one donates charity equal to a date from pure earnings, – and Allah will only accept that which is pure- Allah accepts it and grows it (the reward) just like some of you grow your young animals until it (the reward) reaches the size of a mountain.
[Ref: Sahih Bukhari, hadith: 1410]
Once Sa`ad said to the Prophet (s.a.w) : Pray to Allah that He may accept my invocation (du`a). The Prophet said : Eat lawful food and for that your invocation will be accepted

An angel residing in Baitul Muqaddis proclaims every night : Saraf and Adal will not be accepted from a person who eats unlawful food. Saraf means optional and sunnat actions and Adal means compulsory duties. [In other words, compulsory duties and optional duties will not be accepted from him if he earns or intakes haraam wealth. ]

5) METHODS OF INCREASING THE SUSTENANCE HALAL WAY :
1) Tawbah (Repentance) from sins:
The prophet (s.a.w) said : A servant (of Allah) is deprived of Rizq (provision) because of the sin they commit
[Ibn Majah, Sunan, Introduction, no.90; and Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, Musnad, vol.5, p.280., Saheeh according to some Muhaddith]
{I (Nuh) said (to them): ‘Ask forgiveness from your Lord, verily, He is Oft-forgiving; He will send rain to you in abundance, and give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers.} [Surah an-Nuh (71): 10-12]
There
are many people who seek (Allaah’s) forgiveness, probably seeking
forgiveness many times a day; but nothing increases for them except in
poverty. Why? The answer is: their repentance is a mere utterance with
their tongues. Such repentance, that a person may do every day and after
each prayer, becomes a kind of pastime and is of no avail. Your
repentance, O Muslim brothers, without consciousness and without any
actual practice is a sheer absurdity. It is a must for you that you come
out of such a trait. For there are people who say: “ASTAGHFIRULLAAH, ASTAGHFIRULLAAH”, with their tongues, not with their hearts, and do not understand the meaning of it (nor do they let go of their sinful ways).
{O
my people! Ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him, He will
send you (from the sky) abundant rain, and add strength to your
strength, so do not turn away as criminals (disbelievers in the Oneness
of Allaah).} [Surah Hood (11): 52]
And (commanding you): "Seek the forgiveness of your Lord, and turn to Him in repentance, that He may grant you good enjoyment, for a term appointed, and bestow His abounding Grace to every owner of grace (i.e. the one who helps and serves needy and deserving, physically and with his wealth, and even with good words). But if you turn away, then I fear for you the torment of a Great Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection). [Surah Hood, Verse 3]
2) Taqwa (God-consciousness) and Obedience to Allah:
{And whosoever fears Allaah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine.} [Surah at-Talaq (65): 2-3]
Shaykh al-Albaanee in one of his al-Asaalah magazine of Jordon quoted :
"...And the hadeeth has another supporting evidence with Al-Khateeb (11/361) in mursal form concerning a road story. He reported it from 'Abd-ur-Razzaaq Ibn Sulaimaan Ibn 'Alee Ibn Al-Ja'ad who said: I heard my father say:
"Once
Al-Ma'moon (the Khaleefah at that time) went to visit the jewellers in
the market place. So he haggled with them on the price of an object that
they had. Then Al-Ma'moon embarked on completing some of his needs.
Then he left, so everyone that was in that gathering stood up for him
except for Ibn Al-Ja'ad, for he did not stand. So Al-Ma'moon looked at
him with an expression of of anger. Then he took him to the side and said: 'O Shaikh, what prevented you from standing up for me as your companions stand up for me?' So he ('Alee Ibn Al-Ja'ad) said: 'I honor the Ameer Al-Mu'mineen too much (to stand up for him) because of the hadeeth that we report from the Prophet, sallAllaahu 'alayhi
wa sallam.' He said: 'What is it?' "Alee Ibn Al-Ja'ad said: 'I heard Al-Mubaraak Ibn Fudaalah say: I heard Al-Hasan say: the Prophet, sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, said…'Whoever is pleased that the Children of Adam (mankind) stand up for him, Hellfire becomes binding upon him.'".
So Al-Ma'moon lowered his head pondering over the hadeeth. Then he raised his head and said: 'No one should buy except from this Shaikh.' So the people bought only from that
Shaikh on that day till he had the amount of thirty thousand deenaars."
So Allaah's saying:
"And whoever fears Allaah, he will make a way out for him (i.e. from difficulty), and he will provide for him from places he never imagined" became a reality for 'Alee Ibn Al-Ja'ad
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily,
when the unbeliever performs a good deed he is given a taste of its
reward in the world. As for the believer, Allah will store his good
deeds for him in the Hereafter and provide his sustenance in the world due to his obedience.”
[Ref: Saheeh Muslim 2808]
{And if the people of the towns had believed and had Taqwa (piety),
certainly, We should have opened for them blessings from the heaven and
the earth, but they belied (the Messengers). So we took them (with
punishment) for what they used to earn.} [Surah al-A`raf (7): 96]
{And if only they (the Jews and the Christians) had acted according to the Taurat, and the Injeel, and what has (now) been sent down to them from their Lord (the Qur’aan), they would surely, have gotten provision from above them and underneath their feet…} [Surah al-Ma’idah (5): 66]
{If
they (the non-Muslims) had believed in Allaah, and went on the Right
Way (i.e. Islaam), We would surely, have bestowed on them water (rain)
in abundance.} [Surah al-Jinn (72): 16]
{If
you give thanks (by accepting Faith and worshipping none but Allaah), I
will give you more (of My Blessings); but if you are thankless, verily,
My punishment is indeed severe.} [Surah Ibrahim (14): 7]
Many
Muslim owners of companies and establishments, and even some employees
and workers, know that they are engaged in (things which are) violating
the Shari`ah(Islaamic Legislation), irrespective of what they say
and claim. They know very well, even before others (have to address
them), that they are engaged in forbidden acts like riba (usury
& interest), gambling, deceiving (illegal) contracts, helping one
another in sins and other forbidden things. Some of them know it for
sure that they are really involved and entangled (in the things which
are Haraam), but the love of wealth and fear of poverty makes them stick fast to these prohibited acts and practices (muharramaat).
And the best of them in such a state will say to you: "Excuse me! But
give me a substitute for this prohibited act, so that I may leave it."
How strange! How do you expect a substitute from Allaah سبحانه و تعالى while
you do not want to leave these sinful ways? You alone will be
accountable for the wrongs which you have committed. Replacement comes
only with leaving the forbidden (Muharramaat).
{Verily, Allaah will not change the condition of a people as long as they do not change their state themselves.} [Surah ar-Ra`d (13): 11]
3) Silat-ur-rahem (Observing bonds of kinshipi.e family):
Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allaah's Apostle
is pleased that he be granted more wealth and that his lease (span) of
life be prolonged, then he should keep good relations with his kin." [Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 8, Kitab al-Adab, Hadith 14 & 15 , 5985and Sahih Muslim]
Abu
Hurayrah reported that the Prophet :saws: said: “Learn enough of your
lineage, so that you can establish the ties of kinship, for establish
the ties of kinship increases the love amongst families and multiplies
wealthand extends age” [Shaykh Al-Albani in Sahih Sunan Al-Tirmidhi (2/190)]
Abu
Bakrah reported the Messenger Of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم as saying:
“There is no wrong action which Allaah is swifter to punish in this
world – in addition to the punishment which He has stored up for the
wrongdoer in the Next World – than oppression and cutting off ties of
kinship. [The swiftest of good deeds in retribution is the (act of)
fulfilling the ties of kinship. So much so, that it is possible that a
family can be evil, but their money and their numbers will increase if
they fulfill the ties of kinship.]” [Sahih
Ibn Hibban 440. Part of the Hadith is narrated by Abu Dawood 4902, Ibn
Majah 4211, Tirmidhi 2511, Adab Al Mufrad of Imam al-Bukhari, and
Tabarani and authenticated by Shaikh Al-Albani in as-Saheehah 918. The
second part was also authenticated by Shaikh al-Albaanee in Saheeh
al-Jaami` 5705]
Note : Severing the ties of Family no matter what is a very deadly and grievous sin. See this link for details and proofs : http://the-finalrevelation.blogspot.in/2012/10/obligation-of-upholding-ties-of-family.html
4) Sadaqah (Charity):
{And whatsoever you spend of anything (in Allaah’s cause), He will replace it. And He is the best of providers.} [Surah as-Saba’ (34): 39]
{Shaytaan
(Satan) threatens you with poverty and orders you to commit lewdness;
whereas Allaah promises you Forgiveness from Himself and Bounty, and
Allaah is All-sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knower.} [Surah al-Baqarah (2): 268]
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "Every
day two angels come down from Heaven and one of them says, 'O Allaah!
Compensate every person who spends in Your cause,' and the other (angel)
says, 'O Allaah! Destroy every miser.'" [Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol. 2, Kitab az-Zakat, Hadith 522 and Sahih Muslim]
"You gain no victory or livelihood except through (the blessings and invocations of) the poor amongst you." [Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 4, Kitab al-Jihad, Hadith 145 and Sunan Nasa’i]
Say:
"Truly, my Lord enlarges the provision for whom He wills of His slaves,
and (also) restricts (it) for him, and whatsoever you spend of anything
(in Allâh's Cause), He will replace it. And He is the Best of
providers." [Surah Saba, Verse 39]
Abu Hurayrah said that the Prophet :saws: said: “ Allah has said: ‘O Son of Adam! Spend I will spend on you!” [Sahih Muslim (2/690)]
The
Prophet :saws: said, “The only reason that you are aided in vicory
(against your enemies) and provided with sustainance due to your weak?” [Al-Bukahri (14/179)]
The
Prophet :saws: said, “While a person was in an open area of land, he
heard voice in a cloud above him say. “water the garden of so-and-so!”
So the cloud immediately departed, and started pouring its rain out on a
rocky plain. A large crevice in the rocks collected all of this water.
So the man followed the water (in its course), and he found a man
standing in his garden, using an instrument to direct this water in
different directions *(to irrigate his garden). He said to him, ‘O
servant of Allah! What is your name?’ The man said ‘So-an-so,’ the same
name that he had heard in the clouds! Then the man asked him, ‘O servant
of Allah! Why are you asking me my name?’ So he responded. ‘I heard a
voice in the clouds- the same clouds that this water came from o-
saying, “water the garden of so-and-so” with your name. What do you
interpret this as (i.e. why do you think this happened )?’ So he said,
‘If you say this (i.e. if what you say occurred), then (the reason for
this is that) I see what (crops) come out of it (this graden), and I
give one third in charity, and I eat wth my family one third of it, and I
return one third of it (to cultivate more crops)”” and in another
narration, it is reported that he said, …and I give one third of it to
the poor, and the beggars, and the wayfarers.’ [Muslim (4/2288)]

5) Ibaadah (Worship):
Abu
Hurayrah stated that the Prophet :saws: said, “Allah says, ‘O son of
Adam! Take time out to constantly worship me, I will fill your chest
with richness , and remove your poverty. And if you donot do so. I will
make your hands filled with occupation, and will not remove your
poverty”" [Musnad Imam Ahmad, Tirmidhi 2466, Ibn Majah 4107. Authenticated by Shaikh Al-Albaani, As-Saheehah 1359. The wordings are of Ibn Majah]
Devotion
here doesn't mean that one should stop working and rely on others for
his sustenance. To the contrary, it means that a Muslim seeks his
sustenance (but does not spend his life chasing wealth); and especially
during the times of ibaadah he
should devote himself to Allaah with all his heart. So, do not be like
those who pray with their bodies, but their hearts wander right and
left.
{Indeed, those who recite the Book of Allaah and establish prayer and spend [in His cause] out of what We have provided them, secretly and publicly, [can] expect a profit that will never perish} [Surah Faatir (35): 29]
Maalik ibn Deenar رحمه الله said: “Make the obedience of Allaah your profession; you’ll earn profits without (having to) sell anything.” [Rawdhatul `Uqalaa’ (1/13)]
6) Doing Hajj and `Umrah:
Narrated Abdullah Ibn Mas`ood that the Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم said:“Perform Hajj and `Umrah consecutively.
Verily, the succession between the two (rituals) removes away poverty
and removes away sins just as the bellows removes away the dross of iron
and gold and silver. And a Hajj not mingled with a sin has no reward except paradise.” [Musnad Imam Ahmad, Tirmidhi 810, Nasa’i 2360 & 2361, Ibn Majah 2887. Authenticated by Shaikh Al-Albaani, As-Saheehah 1200.]
7) Hijrah (Migration):
{He
who migrates (from his home) in the Cause of Allaah, will find on earth
many dwelling places and plenty to live by. And whosoever leaves his
home as an emigrant unto Allaah and His Messenger, and death overtakes
him, his reward is then surely incumbent upon Allaah. And Allaah is Ever
Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.} [Surah al-Nisaa’ (4): 100]
To read the beautiful Story of Prophet (s.a.w)'s Migration please visit this link : http://islamqa.info/en/ref/10063
Note: Migration for the sake of Allah becomes valid only under requirement such as the conditions explained above which the sahaabas had to face. Otherwise if a muslim can pray and practise his religion migration is not obligatory upon him.
Narrated Majashi:
I
took my brother to the Prophet after the Conquest (of Mecca) and said,
"O Allah's Apostle! I have come to you with my brother so that you may
take a pledge of allegiance from him for migration." The Prophet said,
The people of migration (i.e. those who migrated to Medina before the
Conquest) enjoyed the privileges of migration (i.e. there is no need for
migration anymore)." I said to the Prophet, "For what will you take his
pledge of allegiance?" The Prophet said, "I will take his pledge of
allegiance for Islam, Belief, and for Jihad (i.e. fighting in Allah's
Cause)". [
Sahih Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 59, Number 598]
Narrated 'Ata' bin Abi Rabah:
'Ubaid
bin 'Umar and I visited 'Aisha, and he asked her about the migration.
She said, "There is no migration today. A believer used to flee with his
religion to Allah and His Prophet for fear that he might be put to
trial as regards his religion. Today Allah has rendered Islam
victorious; therefore a believing one can worship one's Lord wherever
one wishes. But there is Jihad (for Allah's Cause) and intentions." (See
Hadith 42, in the 4th Vol. for its Explanation)
[Sahih Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 59, Number 602]
[Sahih Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 59, Number 602]
8) Tawakkul (Reliance upon Allaah alone):
Narrated `Umar Ibn Al-Khattab that he heard the Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلمsaying: “If
you would trust in Allaah as He truly should be trusted in, He would
surely provide for you as He provides for the birds. They set out in the
morning with empty stomachs and return in the evening with full
stomachs.” [Musnad Imam Ahmad, Ibn Majah 4164, Tirmidhi 2344. Authenticated by Shaikh Al-Albaani, As-Saheehah 310.]
Anas bin Malik, said: "A man said: ‘O Messenger of Allaah, should I tie it (the camel) and make tawakkul, or let it go free and make tawakkul?' He صلى الله عليه وسلمsaid: "Tie it and make tawakkul.'" [At-Tirmidhi]
And
He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine. And
whosoever puts his trust in Allâh, then He will suffice him. Verily,
Allâh will accomplish his purpose. Indeed Allâh has set a measure for
all things. [Surah Al-Talq, Verse 2-3]
Would
that they were contented with what Allâh and His Messenger (SAW) gave
them and had said: "Allâh is Sufficient for us. Allâh will give us of
His Bounty, and so will His Messenger (from alms, etc.). We implore
Allâh (to enrich us)." [Surah Al-Tawba, Verse 59]
9) An-nikaah (Marriage):
{Marry those among you who are single or the virtuous ones among your slaves male or female: If they be poor, Allaah will enrich them out of His bounty. And Allaah is All-Sufficent for His creatures' needs, All-Knowing (about the state of the people).}[Surah al-Noor (24):32]
“O young men, whoever among you can afford to get married, let him marry, for it is more effective in lowering the gaze and protecting the private parts. Whoever cannot do that, then let him fast, for it is a protection for him.” This was recorded in the Two Sahihs from the Hadith of Ibn Mas`ud.
In the Sunan (i.e. Abu Dawood and others), it was recorded from more than one person that the Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم said:
قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: "تَزَوَّجُوا تَوَالَدُوا تَنَاسَلُوا فَإِنِّي مُبَاهٍ بِكُمُ الْأُمَمَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ"
“Marry and have children, for I will be proud of you before the nations on the Day of Resurrection.”
{If they be poor, Allaah will enrich them out of His bounty.} `Ali
bin Abi Talhah reported from Ibn `Abbas: "Allaah encouraged them to get
married, commanded both free men and servants to get married, and He
promised to enrich them.''
It was recorded that Ibn Mas`ud said: "Seek the richness through marriage, for Allaah says: {If they be poor, Allaah will enrich them out of His bounty.}'' This was recorded by Ibn Jarir. Al-Baghawi also recorded something similar from `Umar.
It was reported from Al-Layth from Muhammad bin `Ajlan from Sa`id Al-Maqburi from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم said:
قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:
"ثَلَاثَةٌ حَقٌّ عَلَى اللهِ عَوْنُهُمْ: النَّاكِحُ يُرِيدُ الْعَفَافَ،
وَالْمُكَاتَبُ يُرِيدُ الْأَدَاءَ، وَالْغَازِي فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ"
“There
are three whom it is a right upon Allaah to help: one who gets married
seeking chastity; a slave who makes a contract with his master with the
aim of buying his freedom; and one who fights for the sake of Allaah.” This was recorded by Imam Ahmad, At-Tirmidhi, An-Nasa'i and Ibn Majah.
10) Du`aa (Supplication):
Umm Salamah reported that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم used to say, when he would pray the Morning Prayer, after making the taslim [saying assalamualikum warahma tullah to the right then to the left] he would say, “O Allah I ask you for beneficial knowledge, and good provision and accepted action.” [Ibn Majah and authenticated by Shaikh Al-Albaanee]
Prophet (s.a.w) said inna al-du`a huwa al-`ibada": " Dua'a is worship " or "Dua - It is worship" [Ahmad
4:267, 271, 276; Tirmidhi, Tafsir of surat 2:16 (#2969) and 40 (#3247,
#3372) (hasan sahih); Abu Dawud Witr # 1479 (sahih); Ibn Hibban; Bukhari
in al-Adab al-mufrad (sahih); Ibn Majah, Du`a Ch. 1 (#3828), and
Bayhaqi in Shu`ab al-iman 2:37 (#1105bis); without "inna": Muslim,
Tabarani, al-Hakim, al-Nisa'i, and Ibn Abi Shayba.]
Prophet (s.a.w) said "Whosoever does not supplicate to Allah, He will be angry with Him." [Saheeh Jaami`as-Sagheer #2414]

11) Thanking and Praising Allah:
And (remember) when your Lord proclaimed:
"If you give thanks (by accepting Faith and worshipping none but
Allâh), I will give you more (of My Blessings), but if you are thankless
(i.e. disbelievers), verily! My Punishment is indeed severe." [Surah Ibrahim, Verse 7]
When death was approaching the Prophet of Allaah Nooh -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam – he said to his son: I will narrate to you my bequest; I command you with two things and prohibit you from two things. I command you with ‘La ilaha ‘illa Allaah’ (‘There is none worthy of worship in truth except Allaah) if the seven heavens and the seven earths were placed upon a scale and ‘La ilaha ‘illa Allaah’ was placed on the other, then ‘La ilaha ‘illa Allaah’ would be heavier.
If the seven heavens and the seven earths were a closed off circle then ‘La ilaha ‘illa Allaah’ would be able to break it.
The second thing I command you with is Subhana Allaahi wa bihamdihi (Far is Allaah from imperfection and praise is for Him), since it is a supplication for everything, and by it the creation is given its provision. I prohibit you from shirk and pride.
(the narrator said: I asked or someone asked) : O Messenger of Allaah as for shirk then we know about it, but what is pride? Is it that one of us has sandals with two good straps?
The Messenger answered: No.
He asked again: is it that one of us has companions and they sit with him?
The Messenger again answered: No.
Someone asked: O Messenger of Allaah, what is pride?
He said: ridiculing the truth and belittling the people and reviling them.”

12) Being Honest in One's Dealings (Trade/Business Transactions)
The Prophet (s.a.w) said: "The
two parties of a transaction have the right (to annul the contract) as
long as they do not seperate (from each other). So, if they were
truthful (to one another), and honest in explaining (the defects of an
item), then they will be blessed in their transaction. But, if they
lied, and hid (the defects of an item) then the blessings of their
transaction are destroyed" [Muslim, # 3836]
Tip : it has been narrated that Rasulullah (sallallahu’alaihi wasallam) did make dua for barakah (blessing) in the sustenance of his ummah in the early part of the morning
Narrated 'Umarah bin Hadid:
From Shakr Al-Ghamidi that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "O Allah bless my Ummah in what they do early (in the day)." He said: "Whenever he (ﷺ) would dispatch a military expedition or an army, he would send them in the first part of the day."
And Sakhr, a man who was a merchant, used to send his goods for trade during the beginning of the day (i.e dawn), so he became rich, and his wealth increased.

13) Not Killing one's children due to fear of Poverty
Say:
‘Come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited you from: Join not
anything in worship with Him; be good and dutiful to your parents; kill
not your children because of poverty - We provide sustenance for you and
for them; come not near to al-fawaahish (shameful sins, illegal sexual
intercourse, etc.) whether committed openly or secretly; and kill not
anyone whom Allaah has forbidden, except for a just cause (according to
Islamic law). This He has commanded you that you may understand.”
[al-An’aam 6:151]
Note:
Its a live example that whenever a child is born, Allah provides
his/her parents with the baby's rizq. This is something undeniable and
is witnessed since time immemorial. Those who kill the girls or abort
the girls fearing poverty need to start trusting the Lord who is
sustaining them and the universe.
14.Making the Hereafter One’s main Concern
Once Zayd Bin
Thabit wa with Marwan, the leader of the City, when he went to visit
'Abd Al-Rahman Ibn 'Uthman Bin 'Affan, Abd Al-Rahman said, "Nothing
caused him to come here, at this hour except a question that he wants to
ask." So he asked him (what the matter was). He replied, "He (meaning
Marwan) asked us about matters that we heard the Prophet :saws: say". I
heard the Prophet :saws: say "Whoever puts this world as his only (and
primary) goal, them Allah will divide his affairs for him, and He will
place poverty before his eyes, and nothing will come to him of this
world except that which was already written (i.e. pre-destined) for him.
But whoever made the Hereafter his goal, the Allah will gather his
affairs for him, and he will place richness in his heart, and the world
will come to him conquered and submissive" [Al-Albani Silsila
As-Saheehah, #950 ]
Allah says in surah al-Nahl:
“Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer – We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward according to the best of what they used to do.” [16:97]
Imam ibn Kathir, in his famous book of tafsir explains:
“This is a promise from Allah to whoever does righteous deeds – which are actions in accordance with the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet – whether the doer be male of female from the Children of Adam – and his/her heart is a believer in Allah and His Messenger – and so long as these deeds are from Allah’s Divinely Legislated commands, then this is a promise that Allah cause him to live a good life in this dunya and that He will reward him in the next life according to the best of what he/she used to do.
“And the good life includes all sorts of comforts/ease. And it has been narrated from Ibn ‘Abbaas and a group of exegetes that they explained it as good and lawful provisions.”
[Tafsir ibn Kathir 4/601; via tulayaha blog]
Prayer is the second Pillar of Islam. There should be no doubt that boycotting or abstaining from fulfilling the pillars of Islam definitely has backlash. One such backlash is in rizq
the prayer, and if were to remember Allaah much, by doing what Allaah commanded him to do, Allaah would surely open the doors of sustenance for him. As a matter of fact, the prayer is a means for attaining sustenance (rizq), as Allaah says:
“And command your family with prayer and be patient in offering them. We are not asking you to provide Us with sustenance (rizq). (Rather), We will provide for you and the good end is for those who have Taqwaa.” [Surah TaHa: 132]
15. Being a good Muslim by abstaining from the Major sins and fulfilling the faraidh
Allah says in surah al-Nahl:
“Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer – We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward according to the best of what they used to do.” [16:97]

6) WARNING FROM INDULGING IN SEEKING KNOWLEDGE OR ETC ON THE EXPENSE OF FORSAKING ONE'S RESPONSIBILITY
The Prophet said: “It is enough a sin for a person not to provide means of sustenance to those whom he is obliged to support.” [Ahmad and Abu Daawood]
It was reported that Wahb said:“A freed slave of ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Amr said to him, ‘I want to go and spend this month there in Jerusalem.’ He said, ‘Have you left enough for your family to live on during this month?’ He said, ‘No.’ He said, ‘Then go back to your family and leave them what they need, for I heard the Messenger of Allaah SAWS (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) saying: “It is enough sin for a man not to give food to the one whom he is supposed to feed.
[Ref: Musnad Ahmad, Hadeeth 6664)
Abdullâh b, ‘Abbâs reports that ‘Umar b. Al-Khattâb – Allâh be pleased with them – said:
I used to have a neighbor from the Ansâr who lived in the area of Banî Umayyah b. Zayd, which is in the ‘Awâlî of Medinah, and we used to take turns attending [the gatherings] of Allâh’s Messenger – Allâh’s praise and peace be upon him. My neighbor would attend one day and I the other; so when I attended I would convey to him the reports about the revelation that had come, and other such news, and when he attended he would do the same......

The narration translated above is a shorter report of the full incident, recorded elsewhere in Sahîh Al-Bukhârî. In his commentary on Sahîh Al-Bukhârî, Ibn Hajr lists some of the lessons and points that can be taken from this narration, including the following:
1. The student of knowledge should not neglect taking care of his living needs, in order to help him continue seeking knowledge and other pursuits (at that time, ‘Umar was involved in trade, as is mentioned in other reports).
2. At the same time, the student of knowledge should be diligent and resolute in asking about the knowledge he has missed in his absence.

A
husband, Father, Son etc has responsibilities endowed by Allah and via
ties of kinship. The severity of providing for one's family members is
so much so that prophet (s.a.w) allowed stealing if neccesary as showed
in the below hadeeth
The
report of 'A'ishah (RA) in which she said: Hind, the wife of Abu
Sufyan, told the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Abu,Sufyan
is a miserly man and does not give me enough for myself and my child,
but I take from him without his knowing." He said: "Take what is
sufficient for yourself and your child, and no more." [AI-Bukhari (7180), Muslim (1714)]
Imam Bukhaari has named a chapter in his Book Sahih al Bukhaari as
"باب التَّنَاوُبِ فِي الْعِلْمِ
"باب التَّنَاوُبِ فِي الْعِلْمِ
i.e To fix the duties in rotation for learning (religious) knowledge" under hadeeth no. Sahih al-Bukhari 89
Under
this chapter he narrates a hadeeth wherein Umar ibn Khattab and his
ansaari neighbor used to take turns to go to the prophet (s.a.w) to seek
knowledge. Meanwhile they used to work , or etc. This also shows the
importance of working and earning.
We
see people leaving their Jobs (given by Allah) to go into seeking
knowledge or etc but not realizing that they have children, wife,
parents and relatives who are dependent on them. This is not how Allah
wants us to learn his deen. Everything should be balanced. Indeed there
is a hadeeth that "when allah wishes good for someone, then he gives him
the knowledge" but along with this knowledge one must not forsake his
obligatory duties.
7) CONCLUSION & STRONG ADVICE
O
mankind, remember the favor of Allaah upon you. Is there any creator
other than Allaah who provides for you from the heaven and earth? There
is no deity except Him, so how are you deluded? [Quran 35:3]
O people! Fear God and be moderate in seeking your sustenance, for no one (soul) dies before receiving his sustenance in full, though late. So, fear God and be moderate in seeking your sustenance. [Targheeb wal Tarheeb - Al Mudhari 3/19 Isnaad Saheeh, Narration Hassan, Saheeh Ibn Majah 1756, Sahih Al Jaami' 2742, ]
“And whatever of blessings and good things you have, it is from Allah” [al-Nahl 16:53]. He also says, “And He found you poor and made you rich (self?sufficient with self?contentment)” [al-Duha 93:8]
8) FAQ : FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION :
Why isn't everyone rich? Why doesn't Allah give wealth in abundance?
{And if Allaah were to enlarge the
provision for His slaves, they would surely rebel in the earth, but He
sends down by measure as He wills. Verily, He is, in respect of His
slaves, Well-Acquainted, All-Seer (of things that benefit them). And He
it is Who sends down the rain after they have despaired, and spreads His
Mercy. And He is the Walee (Helper, Supporter, Protector, Lord), the
Worthy of all praise.} [Surah al-Shooraa (42): 27-28]]
Imaam Ibn Katheer رحمه الله mentioned in his Tafseer:
﴿وَلَوْ بَسَطَ اللَّهُ الرِّزْقَ لِعِبَادِهِ لَبَغَوْاْ فِى الاٌّرْضِ﴾
{And if Allaah were to extend the provision for His servants, they would surely rebel in the earth,}means: ‘if
We gave them more provision than they need, this would make them rebel
and transgress against one another in an arrogant and insolent manner.’
Qataadah said: ‘It was said: “The best provision is that which does
not distracts you (from the remembrance of Allaah) nor does it make you
rebel (against Him).”’ Then Qataadah mentioned the following Hadeeth:
Narrated Abu Sa`eed Al Khudree رضي الله عنه: Once the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم sat on a pulpit and we sat around him. Then he said: “The
things I am afraid of most for your sake (concerning what will befall
you after me) is the pleasures and splendors of the world and its
beauties which will be disclosed to you.” Somebody said: “O Allaah's Apostle! Can the good bring forth evil?” The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلمremained silent for a while. It was said to that person: “What is wrong with you? You are talking to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم while he is not talking to you.” Then we noticed that he صلى الله عليه وسلم was being inspired divinely. Then the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم wiped off his sweat and said: “Where is the questioner?” It seemed as if the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم liked his question. Then he said: “Good
never brings forth evil. Indeed it is like what grows on the banks of a
water-stream which either kill or make the animals sick, except if an
animal eats its fill the Khadira (a kind of vegetable) and then faces
the sun, and then defecates and urinates and grazes again. No doubt this
wealth is sweet and green. Blessed is the wealth of a Muslim from which
he gives to the poor, the orphans and to needy travelers. (Or the
Prophet said something similar to it.) No doubt, whoever takes it
illegally will be like the one who eats but is never satisfied, and his
wealth will be a witness against him on the Day of Resurrection.” [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (1465, 2842, 6427) and Saheeh Muslim (1749, 1750, 1751)]
Allah also says " Does He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted?’ [Al-Mulk, 67:14]
So trust Allah. If he has given you less, then your questioning will be less and if he has given you more or in abundant then your questioning would be in abundant.
So trust Allah. If he has given you less, then your questioning will be less and if he has given you more or in abundant then your questioning would be in abundant.
9) TIP : A DU`A YOU COULD SUPPLICATE WITH IN SUJOOD OR ELSEWHERE
Allahummaj `al awsa` rizqika `alayya `inda kibari sinni wan-qitaa` `umri
O Allah let your most abundant provision for me be during my old age; when it is the end of my life.
This du`a is collected and weakened in
Mustadrak al-Haakim (1987) ; Al-Awsat (3755); in (226); Ibn `Adi in Adh-Du`fa (1/271); Ibn al-Qisraani, al-Jawzi in Mawdo`at and others
One of the main reasons being : عيسى بن ميمون منكر الحديث
For those who would say Shaykh Albaanee rahimahullah said it's saheeh in Jaami` us-Sagheer then he himself retracted this in a beautiful way ending it with the verse of Allah in Adh-Da`eefah by saying :
وبناء على ذلك أوردته في " صحيح
الجامع الصغير " برقم (1266) ، فيرجى نقله من هناك إلى " ضعيف الجامع الصغير
"، " ربنا لا تؤاخذنا إن نسينا أوأخطأنا ".
now, any du`a that does not involve shirq or anti-shar`ee words is permissible to use. I can make up my own du`a if i want or follow any da`eef hadeeth which has a du`a in it but of course without considering it a sunnah or attributing it to the prophet (s.a.w).
such as :
Allahumma inni as-aluka ‘ilman nafi’a wa rizqaw wasi’a wa shifa am min kulli da.
